Michael Kelly was commissioned by Michael John Gorman, curator of the Save The Robots Exhibition in 2005 to recreate Heron of Alexandria’s Theatre Automat. This machine had not built in nearly 2000 years. It was a huge success in the exhibition earning compliments from many people including Renato Boaretto, a French mechanical artist. Michaels Heron of Alexandria’s Theatre features on the History Channel as part of the Ancient Discoveries series.
