The Science Gallery Infectious exhibition 2009 explored mechanisms of contagion and strategies of containment. Maria Phelan came up with the concept of Kiss Culture, an interactive exhibit where participants kiss an agar plate to discover the natural flora they carried. The plates, once incubated, contributed to a growing wall of cultured kisses on display within Infectious. Michael Kelly of Spiderfish created the framework and structure (as seen in the video below) to house Maria's truthful scientific experiment.
