Michael Kelly

Michael Kelly is a self taught mechanical artist and inventor who has worked for several years inventing, designing and facilitating workshops for Discover Primary Science, Steps to Engineering, The Ark Childrens Cultural Centre, the Science Gallery, youth organizations and schools.

Michael has established himself in Ireland as a leading inventor and facilitator of science and technology workshops. He began working with The Ark Childrens Cultural Centre in 2005. As part of his tenure with The Ark Michael created a series of Leonardo DaVinci machines that toured national schools in Ireland as an accompaniment to a lecturing series on DaVinci, designed to encourage children to learn about DaVinci, his inventions and how things work. These machines were displayed at the Machmit Museum fur Kinder in Berlin.

In 2006 Michael recreated Heron of Alexandrias Mechanical Theatre which was exhibited at the Save the Robots exhibition in Dublin and featured on the History Channel as part of the Ancient Discoveries series.
